Joanna is the Executive Producer of Into The Fire Film and Theatrical Productions, LLC. She is a playwright, screenwriter, librettist and producer. Her short film, The Silence of Bees, (based on the prologue to her stage play of the same title) won the prestigious Accolade Film Award in 2008, an Aloha Accolade from the Honolulu International Film Festival in 2009 and was screened at the Southeast New England Film Festival, The Kodak Screening Room in Los Angeles by Women in Film in April 2009 and in June 2009 at the Urban Suburban Film Festival in Philadelphia. Her original screenplay Lila Loves Louie was a finalist in 2009 at Suzanne DeLaurentis'  Cinema City International Film Festival and a WINNER of the GAIA Award at The 2009 Moondance International Film Festival and The Seven Summits Award at the Mountain Film Festival at Mammoth.

Joanna is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Women In Film, American Women in Radio and Television, The Dramatists Guild, Theatre West of Los Angeles, and The Academy for New Musical Theatre. She has produced over 15 plays in the San Francisco Bay area including The Laramie Project, Speed-the-Plow and The Vagina Monologues as well as numerous festivals of new plays. She is currently co producing Brian Copeland's Not A Genuine Black Man (The longest running solo show in San Francisco history) as it travels across country.

Joanna is  an Associate Producer on Leave Them Laughing by Academy Award winning director John Zaritsky, a documentary about the brilliant singer, songwriter and humorist Carla Zilbersmith who lost her life to ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) and Within Reach, a documentary that chronicles the personal journey of two young adults biking across the country as they film various eco villages, sustainable and co housing communities.
